Regulatory Note

This course is not nationally recognised training (AQF) and does not issue a Statement of Attainment.

You will complete one (1) Fundamental Unit comprising twelve (12) micro-learning modules designed to build essential workplace capabilities, along with a customised learning stream featuring additional micro-learnings that extend your skills across areas such as leadership, communication, problem-solving and wellbeing.

Each module issues a Certificate of Completion (non-accredited).

This program is not AQF-accredited and does not grant a licence or practising certificate.

This course has been developed in response to industry consultation, which identified gaps in fundamental skills among professionals. The learning has been designed to be practical, relevant and immediately applicable in the workplace, ensuring it meets the real-world needs of industry professionals.

Online, self-paced eLearning delivered through Simtars’ dedicated learning platform. Each micro-learning module is concise and engaging, taking less than one (1) hour to complete, allowing for flexible and efficient learning.

Support and administration are coordinated from Simtars, Redbank. All learning is completed online via Simtars’ learning platform.

Per module (1 hour total, self-paced):

• Approx. 1 hour self-paced online – complete in one sitting or short sessions to fit site and home commitments.
• 100% online eLearning – start/stop anytime; your progress is saved.
• No formal assessments – refresher/awareness focus with light interaction only.
• Evidence provided – Certificate of Completion (non-accredited).
• Tech-light – modern browser and stable internet; desktop or mobile compatible.

Annual load: 12 micro-learnings = approx. 12 hours of flexible learning across the fundamental unit and chosen skill-set pathway.

Recommendation: Allow 1–2 weeks per micro-learning to complete comfortably alongside work commitments.

Evidence: Completion records and Certificates of Completion suitable for personal CPD tracking and career development records.

The Essential Skills Online Program is 100% online and self-paced, giving you the flexibility to complete it at a time that suits you best.

How it works:

• Enrol anytime, start immediately. Access is issued on enrolment.
• Do it when it suits you. Pause/resume; your progress is saved.
• Suggested Pathway: Begin by completing the twelve (12) Fundamental Micro-learnings to build a strong foundation. Then, customise your learning journey by selecting your preferred Skillset Pathway, which consists of ten to thirteen (10–13) additional Micro-learnings tailored to your goals.
• Evidence on completion: Certificate of Completion (Non-Accredited).

Assessment Methods: There are no formal assessments in this online program. You’ll complete self-paced eLearning with knowledge checks along the way. Work through all sections at your own pace. Once you’ve finished the module, you’ve met the requirement.

Attendance Requirements: There is no workshop to attend. To complete the unit, simply finish the online module in full. Your progress is saved, so you can pause and resume around shifts and home commitments.

Credential Issued: This program is non-accredited and does not issue an AQF credential. When you finish each online lesson you’ll receive a Certificate of Completion (non-accredited) for that course.

Issuance Timeframe: This is a non-accredited program, so no AQF certification is issued. Your Certificate of Completion for each course will be provided within 30 calendar days of successfully completing the online module (and settlement of any fees, where applicable).
